Once the request types have been defined by the BPS administrator, they need to be entered in the request catalog. The request catalog consists of request types in a benefit area for which requests can be created.

In this step, you also configure the setting for Employee Self-Service (ESS).

  1. You select the benefit area.
  2. Choose the first programming and the second programming grouping. By different combination of program groupings, you assign different request type list in the catalog.
  3. You need to assign a selection period for the request type selected by filling the selection begin date and selection end date. It is only possible to define one selection period at a time.
If the request time you have selected can be created at any time, then the begin date will be the low date (01.01.1800) and the end date will be the high date (31.12.9999).
  1. Each request type in the catalog will be assigned to a request eligibility rule.
  2. For each request type, you can define the penalty date type (it is not mandatory). If the penalty date type is entered and if the employee has such a date in the infotype 0041, then the date will be the earliest date at which the employee can make a request for such request type. If the date falls after the selection period, then the employee will not be eligible for the request type.
  3. You mark the flag Allow ESS to create this request when the employee can create the request. Only those marked requests appear in the ESS creating request scenario.
