In this step, you define the request type limit rule variant for different groups of employees.

The variants range from variations by salary, age, seniority and other factors exclusive of these three parameters.

Together with the later implementation step Define Benefit Request Type Limit Rule, you can specify the maximum amounts or points that a request can be charged in a time unit.

To create a new variant,

  1. Select a specific benefit area.
  2. Choose New entries.
  3. Enter the variant you want to create.
  4. Select the parameter group which you have defined in the previous implementation step.
  5. Make further selection under Limit rule criteria to indicate whether the parameter group is relevant with criteria like salary, age, seniority or other factors.
If you make no selection at all under the heading Limit rule criteria, employees will have the same limit rule for a particular request type.
  1. When you choose the criteria salary, age or seniority, you can further specify the cutoff date for salary, age or seniority basis. You define it when you want to determine the salary base, age base or seniority base on a date of your choice rather than on the calculation base date.
The calculation base date is the default date for which the system calculates the salary, age, and/or seniority of an employee in order to determine amounts based on these factors.
This date provides the most relevant and current figure, and depends on the validity of the infotype in question:
  • if the record is current, the calculation base date is the system date.
  • If the record is future, the calculation base date is the start date of the record.
  • If the record is past, the calculation base date is the end date of the record.
The calculation base date can be overridden by a cutoff date in Customizing.
