In this step, you can:

  1. Generate your own wage types for Benefits Request Systems by copying the model wage type group BPS.
When you create the wage type catalog, you can only use the name range reserved for your customer wage types (wage type that begin with a number). Do not copy wage types to the area reserved for SAP model wage types (those that begin with a letter or a symbol).
The copies of model wage types have the same characteristics with the model wage types considering processing in dialog as well as in payroll calculation. You can check and change the characteristics of your wage types in the subsequent steps if necessary.
  1. Assign the wage type for calculation base if a point account is relevant with salary grouping.
When the benefit additional point rule variant is relevant with salary grouping, you need to assign the calculation base wage type in order to differentiate the salary groups. Employees belong to different salary groups are entitled to different number of additional points.

For example, you assign the wage type Annual salary (ASAL) as the wage type for calculation base. Salary grouping A indicates employees with annual salary over 100,000USD. Salary grouping B indicates employees with annual salary below 100,000USD. Consequently, employees of these two salary groups get different number of additional points.

You have defined whether a particular point account is relevant with the salary grouping in the previous implementation step: Define Benefit Additional Point Rule Variant.
