The Employment Opportunities service requires you to carry out the following activities

  1. Set up feature INTDF (default value for Internet medium)

Feature INTDF (default value for Internet medium) enables you to determine the media for Internet applications, and the default value for the country indicator displayed for the applicant on the initial screen of the Employment Opportunities service. The Employment Opportunities service does not require you to store the default value for the country indicator.
The return matrix of feature INTDF (default value for Internet medium) has the following structure:
  • MEDEX - (external) Internet medium

  • MEDIN - (internal) Internet medium

The return values enable you to determine the vacancy structure that is offered to the applicant. You use the media that have already been stored for Internet media in Customizing for Recruitment. The values for Internet media are stored in Customizing table T750D Medium.
If the Employment Opportunities service is implemented on its own, you only need to store the return value for MEDIN (internal Internet medium).
If you also implement the Employment Opportunities Internet Application for external applicants, you are advised to determine two different Internet media (one internal, and one external).
For information on how to create media, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Recruitment and choose Create Media.
  • LAND1 - country indicator

The default value stored here determines which country-specific entry screen is displayed by the system on the initial screen for an external applicant. You do not edit this return value for the Employment Opportunities service because an internal applicant logs on using his or her existing user ID and does not, therefore, access the service via the initial screen.
  1. Set up feature INTDY (default values for Internet applications)
You use feature INTDY (default values for Internet applications) to determine default values for the following, for example:
  • Organizational assignment of applicant

  • Address format

You can determine all return values depending on the country assignment (MOLGA) or job advertisement. In the standard system, all return values are set up depending on the country grouping.
The return matrix of feature INTDY (default values for Internet applications) has the following structure:
  • PERSG - applicant group

  • PERSK - applicant range

  • WERKS - personnel area

  • BTRTL - personnel subarea

  • SACHP - personnel officer responsible

This enables you to specify a personnel officer to whom the employee who submits the application is assigned.
  • SPAPL - unsolicited application group

  • DYNNR - screen number

This return value is of no consequence to the Employment Opportunities service. You only need to set it up if you implement the Employment Opportunities service together with the Employment Opportunities Internet Application.
  1. Set up formats for applicant documents
In this activity you define the formats that are permitted for applicant documents (application documents). This enables you to determine formats employees can use in their online application documents in electronic form.
You specify the formats in the Permitted Document Formats for Internet Applications table (T750R). You can set up several formats in this table. In particular, you specify the document extension (DOC_TYPE; for example, .doc or .jpg) and the format (MIME_TYPE; for example, pjpeg oder jpeg). Permitted entries are those that are specified in Customizing for the SAP ArchiveLink component. These formats are stored in the SAP ArchiveLink Document Classes view (V_TOADD).
When an employee uses the Employment Opportunities service, the SAP System checks the document format that the employee wants to use against the Permitted Document Formats for Internet Applications table (T750R). If the employee uses a format that your enterprise has not set up, the SAP System issues an error message to this effect.
The SAP System references the entries in the Permitted Document Formats for Internet Applications table (T750R), retrieves the long texts for the permitted formats from the SAP ArchiveLink Document Classes view (V_TOADD), and makes them available in the Employment Opportunities service.
Please note that the variable MIIME_TYPE may be browser-dependent, and that you should therefore specify appropriate values for this variable.

Additional notes

Documents linked to the applicant are stored under document type HRIAPPLINT.
