Define Holiday Buying/Selling Factor (FLEX)

In this IMG step, you define the maximum amount of holiday (in days) that an employee joining your organisation duringthe benefits year can buy or sell in the calendar month he or she joins your organisation. In other words, you set an prorating factor for holiday buying and selling for each joining month of the benefits year.

For example, your organisation decides that eligible employees can buy or sell up to a maximum of five days holiday during the benefits year, but employees who join the organisation in September can only buy or sell two days in the remainder of the benefits year. Your benefits year lasts from January until December of each calendar year. Therefore, you maintain a buying and selling prorating factor for holiday of five days for January and two days for September in this customising table.

You must have already defined the number of time units (by day or by hour) that the employee can buy or sell when participating in the GB Flexible Benefits enrollment process for holiday plan, in the previous IMG step Define Quantity of Holiday Buying/Selling for Holiday Plan (FLEX).

As noted above, under Use,this step is used to decide the prorated maximum value of holiday buying and selling for those employees who join your organisation after the benefits year has commenced.

  1. Execute this IMG activity, and select your required benefit area when prompted.
  2. For each month of the upcoming benefits year:
    1. Specify the maximum number of days holiday an employee can buy for the remainder of the benefits year in the field Max Buying.
    2. Specify the maximum number of days holiday an employee can sell for the remainder of the benefits year in the field Max Selling.
  3. Save your entries
