BAdI: Enhancement for GB FlexBens Holiday Buying/Selling Factor (PFBN0003)

Use

This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in Flexible Benefits for Great Britain (PA-BN-FB-GB), for the Holiday Plan buying/selling factor. You must configure this buying/selling factor for your Holiday Plan in the Benefits Administration IMG, in the customizing step Define Holiday Buying/Selling Factor (FLEX).

For example, your organisation decides that eligible employees can buy or sell up to a maximum of five days holiday during the benefits year, but employees who join the organisation in September can only buy or sell two days in the remainder of the benefits year. You maintain a buying and selling prorating factor for holiday of two days for September in the above IMG step, using table T74_FBN11. In the standard GB FlexBens system, the holiday buying/selling factor is only valid for those employees who join your organisation afterthe benefits year has commenced.

The SAP-delivered Business Add-In (BAdI) PFBN0003enables you to implement your own rule to decide the holiday buying/selling factor. You can set different prorating factors for different holiday plans. This BAdI is called when you wish to create your own rules to decide the holiday buying/selling factor, replacing the SAP standard rule.

Standard settings

  • This BAdI is not activated in the standard system.
  • If this BAdI is activated without being modified, the SAP standard rule to decide the holiday buying/selling factor will be ignored.
  • This BAdI is not reusable.

Activities

After you have called the IMG activity, proceed as follows:

  1. In the following dialog box, enter in the field "Implementation" a name for the BAdI implementation and choose Copy.
If implementations have already been created for the BAdI, a dialog box with the existing implementations will be displayed. In this dialog box, choose Create.
  1. In the corresponding field, enter a short text for implementation .
  2. In the tab Propertiesenter filter properties - if this is a filter-dependent BAdI.
  3. Choose the tab Interface.
The name of the implementing class is generated by the system based on the name of your impmlementation. You can change the name.
If the BAdI is a menu exit, the tab FCodes also appears.Enter a function here and, if necessary, additional data.
  1. Save your entries and assign a package.
  2. Position the cursor on a method. Call up the Class Builder by double-clicking it.
  3. Between the statements method <Interface-Name>~<Name of Method>. and endmethod, enter the coding you request for the implementation.
  4. Save and activate your coding, and navigate back to the screen Change Implementation.
  5. Save on the screen Change Implementation.
Note: You can first create an implementation for the BAdI and then activate this later on. In this case, close the processing function at this time.
  1. Choose Activate.
When the application program is executed, the coding you have created will be run.

Example

Your organisation has implemented two GB FlexBens holiday plans, one plan for full-time employees and a separate plan for part-time employees. You wish to assign a different buying/selling prorating factor for each of these plans, as follows (here the month of September is used as an example):

  • For the full-time Holiday Plan, an employee joining your organisation in September can buy or sell two days holiday
  • For the part-time Holiday Plan, an employee joining your organisation in September can buy or sell only one days holiday

In this situation, you must write your own coding using the BAdI: Enhancement for GB FlexBens Holiday Buying/Selling Factor (PFBN0003) [GET_HOLIDAY_PLAN_FACTOR] to set your required proration factors for each respective Holiday Plan.
