In this Customizing activity, you make the necessary assignments for your newly-created postal code.

In addition, you can also remove or change assignments to already existing postal codes according to your needs.

If you have created a new postal code, make the following assignments:

  • Official language in which the name of the postal code should be displayed.
  • By assigning a name variant to your postal code, you can have different names for a postal code in one single language.
  • Short description (name) of the postal code.

Postal code 7850 has different names both in Dutch and French:

  • in Dutch:
  • Edingen

  • Mark

  • Lettelingen

  • in French:
  • Enghien

  • Marcq

  • Petit-Enghien

Example: Deleting postal codes entries

Assume your company only needs the names of postal code 7850 in Dutch.

Delete the entries of postal code 7850 with official language French as follows:

  1. Select the lines with the entries of postal code 7850 in language French (in change mode).
  2. Delete the selected lines.
  3. Save your changes.

Note:

If a postal code has different names in a specific language and you do not need one of these names, you can also delete this single entry.
