As set out in the Ministry Order regarding temporary incapacity benefits for illness, passed on October 13, 1967 and still in force, an employee is entitled to continue receiving social insurance economic assistance on a Sunday or public holiday if he or she returns to work on the day before the holiday.

  1. An employee is on leave due to non-industrial disease from March 15 to April 30. As he returns to work on the eve of a holiday (the 1st of May is a public holiday), he is entitled to receive economic assistance for the publich holiday.
  2. An employee is on leave from Monday to Saturday. Since the following day is a Sunday, she is entitled to economic assistance for this day also. Note that if the absence had lasted until the Friday, she would not have been entitled to economic assistance for the Saturday even if it were a non-working day.
  3. An employee is on leave from December 12 to December 24. He is entitled to receive economic assistance for the 25th and 26th of December, considering that both days are public holidays.

In the standard SAP system, economic assistance for temporary incapacity leave ending on the eve of a public holiday can be recovered using a dynamic action and the following payroll constants: A1000 and A2000. These constants specify the relationship between different types of absences.

If you choose to recover economic assistance for temporary incapacity ending on the eve of a public holiday, you should first activate the dynamic action for infotype 2001. This action will be be activated when you enter an absence ending on a Saturday or the day before a public holiday. A pop-up screen wil allow you to specify if you want to add an additional absence day for the Sunday or public holiday in order to recover the economic assistance for these days. To help you decide, the shift that the employee would normally work on those days will be displayed.

After that, you must check the constants that assign the 'TI ending on the eve of a holiday' attendance/absence category to the absence category that the system uses to display the situation in question.

The automatic recovery of this economic assistance is not activated in the standard SAP system settings.

Constants A1000 and A2000 are delivered with the correct values.

  1. If you want to activate the dynamic action, copy entries 1 and 2 from the corresponding blocks for each absence that will be affected by this dynamic action (including standard ones, if used)
Example:
1000 ENDDA 06 1 | |T001P-MOLGA = '04'
1000 ENDDA 06 2 | |VISPERA_FEST(RPTVISE0)
  1. Activate the entries you have copied by inserting the activating indicators 'P' and 'F' in the blank column for each entry.
Example:
1000 ENDDA 06 1 |P|T001P-MOLGA = '04'
1000 ENDDA 06 2 |F|VISPERA_FEST(RPTVISE0)
9100 ENDDA 06 3 |P|T001P-MOLGA = '04'
9100 ENDDA 06 4 |F|VISPERA_FEST(RPTVISE0)
  1. Check the values assigned to payroll constants A1000 and A2000.
