In this step, you can define the selection criteria for employee's ALREADY in the system that are related to the current on that is being processed through a HIRING event. The employees MUST be an exact match on Gender and Date of Birth regardless of the customising set up here.

Additional selection critieria can be checked as well;

  1. Surname
    1. Check the WHOLE surname, 'X'
    2. Check a the FIRST letter of the surname,,, '1'.
    3. Check the surname using a "phonetic" search which can be graded between 1 and 100. An 'X' means the standard SAP recommended search 'distance' of 30. This is the second parameter.
  2. National Insurance Number
    1. Check the WHOLE National Insurance number, 'X'.
Temporary numbers cannot be checked. If the employee being hired has a temporary NI Number or any employees in the system that met the previous selection criteria have temporary NI Numbers, then this check will NOT be performed.

The string to be entered has the format LASTNAME DISTANCE NI-NUMBER.

  • 'X',,'N',,'X',,,,The most strict check Surname and NI Number MUST match exactly
  • 'N',,'X',,'N',,,,The Surname MUST "phonetically" match (within a 'distance' of 30).
  • '1',,'N',,'N',,,,The FIRST character of the Surname MUST match exactly.
  • 'N',,'N',,'N',,,,No extra checking performed

If the selection as described is not sufficent, it is possible to to use enhancement HRP08P14.

Create a project (transaction CMOD) including enhancement HRP08P14.
