On the initial screen for the maintenance of HR Master Data, you can call up an overview and a details view of an employee's personnel assignments. In this step, you determine how the information should be presented.

For both views, Personnel Assignment Overview and Personnel Assignment Details, you can select fields from any infotype and additional fields of the HR Master Data infotypes.

How the description is created depends on the country assignment of the personnel assignment. Descriptions which are valid for all countries are stored in the standard catalog under the country grouping 99. Additional country-specific catalogs are stored under the respective country grouping.

In the Overview and Details views, the system always displays the standard catalog first with the respective country catalogs beneath.

If no description is defined for a country assignment, the system only chooses the country grouping 99.

Note the following when you create the respective catalogs with descriptions:

  • The standard catalog contains descriptions that are valid for all countries and is stored under the country grouping 99.
  • When you open the Personnel Assignment Details view, the system displays the first structure as an expanded structure. All other categories are initially collapsed.

Perform the following Customizing steps:

  1. In the Personnel Assignment Overview step, determine the infotype or subtype fields that you want the system to display in the Overview for the respective country groupings.
  2. In the Personnel Assignment Details: Categories step, define the categories that you want to use to group the data on the personnel assignments in the Details view for the respective country groupings. (For example, Personnel Administration, Payroll, Time Management).
  3. In the Personnel Assignment Details: Line Layout step, determine the infotype or subtype fields that you want the system to display in the Details view for the respective country groupings. Assign a category to each field.
