SAP E-Book

In this step, you define the retirement payment factor relevant to service year. The following four steps define this retirement payment factor:

  • Defining payment factor pattern
  • Defining payment factor values for service year per pattern
  • Defining payment factor modifier
  • Defining link between payment factor modifier and pattern. Only this association setting has a validity period.

The payment factor pattern can be used for version management. If the company rule affecting the pre-defined payment factor is changed and the change takes effect at a future date, you can define a new payment pattern and payment factor values in advance. You then associate this new pattern to a payment modifier with a validity period. In this way, you can always manage to set payment factor values as a group or version.

The payment factor modifier is set to pay scale group / level combination in a feature.

So that different payment factor patterns can be defined and assigned to different pay scale group / level with validity period.

SAP's sample payment factors have already been defined.

  1. Define payment factor pattern with description.
  2. Define payment factor relevant to service year for each payment pattern.
  3. Define payment factor modifier in a feature structure.
  4. Define link between payment factor modifier and pattern with validity period. This link must be made for all payment factor modifiers.
