In this Customizing activity, you enter the category that describes a combination of personnel actions and reasons for personnel actions that you use for a similar purpose.

You assign all combinations of personnel actions and reasons for personnel actions that you use for a similar purpose to the corresponding event group.

The system uses event groups to determine which sets of personnel actions and reasons for personnel actions you use for a particular purpose. For example, you group together all combinations of personnel actions and reasons for personnel actions that you use to hire employees in your company.

Assume that you use two different personnel actions and three different reasons for personnel actions to hire employees in your company. You assign the personnel actions and reasons for personnel actions to the event group for hiring called Hire.

To enable a report that evaluates all the personnel actions related to hiring employees, it reads the Hire event group.
