In this step you can check the codes for the marital status of employees.

The marital status is required to determine the employee's tax class and must be stated on the employment tax card.

Note:
The codes (indicators) used in the system may differ from those used in infotypePersonal Data(0002) (for internal HR data). If you would, for example enter a code for "unmarried couples" in infotype Personal Data(0002), then the code "Single" will be used in infotype Fiscal Data NL (0060).

The marital status is indicated by codes defined by the tax authorities. These codes are supplied by SAP as part of the standard delivery. Their texts can be changed, but their meaning is fixed.

The standard codes are:

  • 1: Single
  • 2: Married
  • 3: Divorced
  • 0: If not applicable to the calculation of employment tax and national insurance contributions
  1. Check the standard codes supplied by SAP and make changes to the text if necessary.
  2. If new codes have been introduced by the tax office, enter them in the system.
  3. To make changes, delimit the old data and create a new record with the correct start date.
