In this IMG step you can define the countries that are considered countries of birth of ethnic minorities according to the Dutch act for stimulating labor participation of ethnic minorities (Wet SAMEN).

The question of whether an employee is a member of an ethnic minority depends on the countries of birth entered in infotype SAMEN NL (0177). If at least one of these countries is on the official list, the employee is considered a member of an ethnic minority according to the Wet SAMEN.

An employee's mother was born in Surinam, the country of birth of the employee and his father is the Netherlands. Since Surinam is one of the countries in the SAMEN list, the employee is considered member of an ethnic minority.

A list of ethnic minority countries is supplied as part of the SAP standard delivery. You must, however, check if the list is correct and complete. You can check the countries against the current list provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (Ministerie van Sociale Zaken en Werkgelegenheid).

  1. Check the countries listed on the valid country list.
  2. When the official country list changes, modify the table accordingly.
  3. If you are not able to add a certain country, because it does not appear on the list, you must first add it to the main country list (table T005). After this it should be possible to choose the country from the table.
