In this step you can add to the existing search help for personnel numbers.

The following search help functions are delivered with the standard system:

  • PREMB PDC error indicator (Plant Data Collection)
  • PREMC Personnel identification number
  • PREMD Part-time employees (Germany only)
  • PREME Buyer
  • PREMF Construction industry - Organizational assignment
  • PREMG Birthday
  • PREMH Sickness certificate data (A)

  • PREMN Last name - first name

The search help is called up according to the software transaction that you are working in. You define the search help that is available for each transaction in the search help exit HRMC_PREM_EXIT (Search help selection per transaction). For HR master data maintenance there are fewer search helps available than for a report transaction. Customer specific search help functions are displayed independent of a transaction. You can either control the display search helps in table T588A or implement the Business-AddIn HRPAD00_PREM.

SAP recommends that you use the name ZPREM + number (e.g. ZPREM0) for user defined elementary search helps. SAP recommends that you select the name Z_PREM + number for your user defined selection methods (e.g. Z_PREM0).

The standard system uses search help exit HRMC_PREM_EXIT. If you want to create a search help exit for a customer specific search help, SAP recommends that you use this search help exit.

  1. First, create an elementary search help in the object PREM. When doing so, observe the recommended naming convention for customer search helps. The elementary search help will be integrated to the collective search help when it is created in the object PREM.
  2. If you navigate forwards you arrive at the maintenance screen for the search help.
  3. Enter a short text for the search help on the maintenance screen.
  4. Define the obligatory selection method for the elementary search help on the maintenance screen. When doing so, also observe the SAP recommendations for customer specific selection method names.
  5. If necessary create a search help exit if you want a search help flow which exceeds the search help already described. To do this you should use the standard search help exit HRMC_PREM_EXIT if possible.
  6. Define the dialog type for the search help.
  7. Define the search help parameters and the import and export parameters. Ensure that PERNR (personnel number) is always used as an export parameter.
  8. Assign a one character abbreviation for the search help short cut. The search help is called up using this short cut.
  9. Activate the search help you created.
  10. Since Release 4.70, the search help is automatically available in the logical databases PNP and PNPCE. However, in some cases it is advisable to generate a special selection program (as was always the case in earlier releases). For more information, refer to documentation of the report Generator for Selection Methods for Search Helps of LDB PNP and PNPCE (DBPNPGMC).
