In this step you determine the return codes of the feature Administrator groups (PINCH).

In the infotype Organizational assignment (0001), you can enter three different personnel administrators:

  • administrator for Personnel Administration
  • administrator for Time Management
  • administrator for Payroll

Standard SAP reporting (for example, "error list Time Recording"), can be used as selection criteria by administrators (in this case, the administrator for Time Management), so that the persons working in Time Recording can just create a list of their employees.

You can print the administrators on the remuneration statement so that employees can see from the payroll form who they should turn to if they have any queries.

In practice, however, it can happen that the same administrators are responsible for several personnel areas or several employee groups and subgroups.

The feature Administrator groups (PINCH) is designed to deal with such a situation.

Administrator A is responsible for personnel areas 1 and 2, Administrator B is responsible for the employee subgroups X and Y within personnel area 3, Administrator C is responsible for all other employee subgroups within personnel area 3.

Get an overview of your administrators' areas of responsibility for the personnel areas in your company.

The standard SAP System always assumes that an administrator is only responsible for one personnel area, i.e. that the administrator group corresponds to the personnel area.
The return value of the feature is, therefore, "****", this is replaced by the current personnel area.

  1. Check whether the feature is set up correctly for your needs.
  2. If necessary, define return values for the feature that meet your requirements. When you do this, consider the effect it might have on the next step.
  3. Pay attention to the feature documentation.
