In this step you define overtime compensation types. You can specify the type of overtime compensation for the following infotypes:

Personnel Time Management

  • Attendances infotype (2002) for recorded attendance times
  • Attendance Quotas infotype (2007) for permitted overtime

Payroll

  • Overtime infotype (2005) for recorded overtime
  • Employee Remuneration Information infotype (2010) for entering overtime bonuses

This allows you to control whether an employee’s overtime is to be compensated and/or offset with time in lieu.

The overtime compensation type is handled differently in Payroll:

  1. Previous evaluation using time evaluation:
Model processing using the personnel calculation rule TC40
In time evaluation it is the wage type that initially determines the offsetting of the overtime. If, according to processing class 17, the wage type is coded such that the overtime should be compensated using the overtime compensation type defined here, this specification is used when payroll is run for overtime.
  2. Payroll with day processing of time data (schema TC00):
Model processing personnel calculation type TC00.
The overtime compensation type is generally evaluated in payroll.
  3. Payroll without time management (EE Remuneration Info infotype)
Customer-specific enhancement of personnel calculation rule X930

An employee has worked five hours overtime. They receive five hours of time off in lieu. The employee is remunerated for the overtime bonus.

The standard overtime compensation types are as follows:
BLANK,,Wage type determines
,,1 ,,Compensation
,,2 ,,Time off plus overtime bonus
,,3 ,,Compensation

Use the standard compensation types and do not add to them.

  • If you do not enter the overtime compensation type in the infotype Overtime (2005), overtime is fully remunerated.
  • If you enter the overtime compensation type in the infotype Employee Remuneration Information (2010), you must use wage types to fill the time quotas for compensating overtime on a customer-specific basis. infotype (2005), overtime is fully remunerated.
  • If you enter the overtime compensation type in the EE Remuneration Info infotype (2010), you must fill the time quotas for compensating overtime on a customer-specific basis.
