If the pay scale information stored under the standard identifier 'ITIG' are not sufficient, you can access a function exit via the SAP enhancement concept and use your own identifier to store the necessary information in the Variable Balance and Cummulated Variable Balance tables (tables VS and CVS respectively) in the time evaluation cluster B2.

If you execute this step, first read the online documentation on the transaction you have accessed. This can be accessed by choosing Utilities -> Online manual.

To use the function exit, you must have a good working knowledge of the programming language ABAP/4. In specially reserved areas, you can store your own coding - SAP cannot take any responsibility for this coding. All the data that you provide for the application program via hard-coded interfaces, will always be consistently stored in the system. If the system cannot process the data correctly, then the executable program RPITIG00 displays an error message and continues processing using the next personnel number.

The function exit in not activated in the SAP R/3 System.

Only use the function exit if you use your own identifier in the personnel calculation rule.

  1. Create an enhancement project.
  2. Assign the SAP enhancement HRPCMPVA to this project.
  3. Edit the function exit EXIT_RPITIG00_001. For addition information, see Function Exit Documentation.
  4. Document your project.
  5. Activate your project. The enhancement can only be used once you have activated your project.

When you edit the function exit, store your coding in the include ZXPTGU01. By doing this, your enhancment - as opposed to a modification - is stored in a name space that has been reserved for customers and not in the SAP original and can, as a result, be released.
