You assign your wage types to a wage type group in this step.

SAP's sample wage types have already been assigned to groups.

If you want to use a wage type in an infotype other than the one to which it is assigned, you must perform this step.

Wage types have been defined in the wage type catalog.

Certain wage types in the standard system, such as vacation and Christmas bonus, have already been assigned to groups.

Check your wage types and create new ones as required.

If you have assigned a wage type to more than one group, now you must also perform the next step.
