SAP E-Book

The standard SAP system provides archiving objects for the destruction of application data for Human Resources. If you also need archiving objects to destroy application data from customer-specific infotypes and subtypes, you can use the Archive Development Kit (ADK) provided by SAP NetWeaver together with the PA/PT data destruction framework to develop your own archiving objects and reports.

In this Customizing activity, you create a new archiving object for the destruction of data. For detailed information about the settings and activities required, see SAP Library for SAP ERP Central Component, and choose Human Resources -> Data Privacy (HR) -> Development of an Archiving Object for Data Destruction.

You have already created and activated the required reports for the archiving object.

  1. Run the transaction Archiving Object Definition (AOBJ).
  2. Create the archiving object.
  3. Enter the required reports for the archiving object and the control parameters to run these reports.
  4. Edit the structure of the archiving object. You can define the structure of your own archiving object or enhance a standard archiving object:
  • For your own archiving object, state all tables from which data is to be destroyed (primary infotype tables, cluster tables, secondary infotype tables, and cost assignment tables). Make sure that you avoid inconsistencies in the database.

  • If you want to enhance a standard archiving object since data from a customer-specific infotype is to be destroyed together with this standard archiving object, you can enhance the structure of the archiving object and enter the required database tables.

Note
In addition to this static procedure for defining the structure, you can also enhance the structure definition dynamically. You can also use an implementation of the Business Add-In (BAdI) ARC_OBJECT_ADD_TABLE to add the required database tables. The structure definition of the archiving object is then enhanced with the relevant structures at runtime.
We recommend that you create the structure definition statically using transaction AOBJ since a BAdI implementation can lead to performance problems.
  1. Make the general Customizing settings for an archiving object:
Make the settings for the archive file, the delete program, and running the delete job.
  1. Save your entries.
