In this step, you specify the types of budget updates that are allowed for specific budget structure element types.

To do this, you assign one or more subtypes of the Budget Updates infotype (1504) to the budget structure element types in question. These subtypes represent the forms of budget update that are allowed for the budget structure element type in question.

The Return flag is used to specify whether budget funds are increased (supplemented) or decreased (returned).

  • If you select this flag, an infotype record of this subtype represents a decrease in the budget (a return).
  • If you do not select this flag, an infotype record of this subtype represents an increase in the budget (a supplement).

If a budget structure element has the status Released (that is, it can be executed), then the funds available for the budget of this budget structure element can only be increased or decreased using the budget updates that are allowed for the budget structure element type in question.
To do this, a record of the Budget Updates infotype is created using the correct subtype, which specifies the type and amount of the budget update.

You must already have defined the budget structure element types for which you want to create budget updates.

You must already have created the appropriate subtypes of the Budget Updates infotype (1504) in the IMG step Define Budget Updates.

To assign budget updates to budget structure element types, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose New entries.
  2. Assign a subtype to every budget structure element type where a budget update is allowed. If applicable, select the Return field.
  3. Choose Save.
