SAP E-Book

Use this transaction to maintain system number range intervals.

For some tables SAP suggests a certain number range which the system displays in the Sugg From and Sugg To columns. Warning: While each SAP customer has the option to set number ranges as they see fit, if a customer does not enter the suggested entries for a range set with the system indicator (Syst NRIV ), the system may not operate properly!

1. Review the status of the number range interval in the Status column. When the system displays a yellow or red symbol in the Status column, the number range requires maintenance.

For example, if you specify a number range different than a suggested number range, the system displays a yellow triangle in the Status column.

If there is a yellow or red symbol in the Status column, then maintain the number range.

2. To make the number range entries, choose Maintain Number Range Interval.

3. To assign a number range interval to a table, choose Maintain Configuration. At the Change View Number Range Interval Assignments to PRA Tables: Overview screen, specify the number range interval in the No field.

4. Choose Transport Num Range Intervals as required to transport a number range.

5. Note that if the indicator is selected in the Syst NRIV column, then there is a corresponding number range that SAP suggests you use.

Warning: If you do not enter a suggested range, the system may not operate properly!

Further Notes

Every time a new client is added to the system, you must create new number range intervals for that client.
