Up until 2010, employees who were entitled to "tax exemption for construction projects abroad" were completely exempt from paying tax. This tax exemption will be (gradually) abolished by 2013. In 2011 and 2012, any employees affected will therefore only be partially exempt from paying tax.

By default, the Payslip Tax for employment abroad (subapplication BL6A) and Payslip Tax for cross-border employees (subapplication BL6G) show only 100% tax-free income, while the Payslip Tax for domestic employment (subapplication BL16) contains the taxable income. With the new tax exemption reason §3 EStG Tax Exemption for Construction Projects Abroad (M), subapplications BL6A and BL6G must, however, show both the part of income free of tax and the part of income subject to tax.

In the following Customizing activities, you carry out a transfer posting of all cumulation wage types and wage types, which up until now were shown in subapplication BL16, to subapplications BL6A and BL6G.

The transfer posting of wage types concerns all employees with the following data in the Fiscal Data A (0042) infotype:

  • Tax procedure: Subject to Tax Without Restrictions (1) with tax exemption reason §3 EStG Tax Exemption for Construction Projects Abroad (M)
  • Tax procedure: Subject to Tax With Restrictions (2) with tax exemption reason §3 EStG Tax Exemption for Construction Projects Abroad (M)
