PAY_BE_B2A_FILES - Define File Names/Location

In this Customizing activity, you define a path and a file name to download an XML file to the SAP application server for a B2A entry (B2A process in background).

  1. Create a new entry for the logical file path with the following naming conventions: HR_BE_B2A_
    . Enter a description for the path file.
  2. Select the entry that you have created in the previous step and double click on the Assignment of Physical Paths to Logical Paths folder.
  3. Select a syntax group according to the application server (for example, UNIX for application server Linux; WINDOWS NT for application server Microsoft).
  4. For the physical path, select the exact path to be used on the server. The ending should always be .
  5. Double click the Logical File Name Definition folder and select New Entries. In the Physical file field, use the following tags to allow different file names between the executions of the processes:
  • PARAM_1: It contains the exact file name that is generated when you execute the Download file B2A step in foreground.

  • PARAM_2: It contains the user name who executes the process in background. When the process is automated it is possible to differentiate between an end-user and a batch user file.

  • DATE: It contains the date when the file was created.

Note:
If you want to have the same name as for a foreground execution, customize this physical name to .xml.
  1. Under Data format, select ASC (ASCII).
  2. Under Application area, select HR (Human Resources).
  3. Under Logical path, assign the logical path name that you have created in the previous steps.
  4. Save your entries.

You want to download the declaration file for a B2A instance of DIMONA. Proceed as follows:

  1. Enter the logical file path name: HR_BE_B2A_DIMN.
  2. Enter a description for the logical file path: Dimona file path
  3. Enter the syntax group: UNIX
  4. Enter the physical path: /tmp/
  5. Double click the Logical File Name Definition folder and select New Entries. In the Physical file field, enter <PARAM_1>__.xml.
  6. Under Data format, select ASC.
  7. Under Application area, select HR.
  8. Under Logical path, enter the logical path that you have created in the previous steps: HR_BE_B2A_DIMN.
  9. Save your entries.
