In this activity, you determine if and how a wage type cumulates in the Basis for average income (/008) wage type.

This wage type may be used to calculate the employee's average income of the last 24 months (/TF6). You indicate which wage types the system uses to calculate this average income by means of feature CLTRM.

Depending on the reason for termination, the Chilean law defines certain mandatory severance payments. The system calculates these payments automatically. However, if the employer has an agreement with an employee or a group of employees, he or she can define a voluntary severance pay in addition.

According to Chilean legislation, voluntary severance pay is exempt from income tax up to an amount equal to the employee's average income from the last 24 months. The portion which exceeds this amount is taxable.

Before performing this activity you need to create wage types. To do that, follow the instructions under Personnel Management -> Personnel Administration -> Payroll Data -> Wage Type Concept.

To perform this activity:

  1. Select a wage type.
  2. Enter the corresponding value of processing class 68.
  3. Save your entries.
