In this Customizing activity, you maintain the ELENA feature DELEN to determine the action that is performed when an employee enters retirement. You also maintain the actions for which termination notifications are created when an employee leaves the company.

For employees entering retirement, the last notification in the ELENA process must have the reason 48 (Entry into Retirement). The program detects company pensioners by finding the status Pensioner (2) in the Actions (0000) infotype. The feature DELEN must be maintained for employees who do not receive a company pension and have the status Withdrawn (0) after entering retirement. This is necessary to distinguish between retiring employees and employees who are leaving the company but do not receive a pension after leaving and instead are taking up another employment, for example.

If an employment ends due to termination, the fixed term expiring, or a termination contract, the termination notification is generally to be reported at the latest three months before the end of the employment relationship. If there are less than three months until the end of the employment, the termination notification has to be reported without delay – at the latest with the next payroll.

Maintain the feature DELEN for the entry into retirement by assigning the return value R to the action types and action reasons that you use for someone entering retirement.

Maintain the feature DELEN for the termination notifications by assigning the return value K to the action types and action reasons that you use for a notice or dismissal and for which a termination notification is to be created.

See the example in the documentation for the feature DELEN.
