The IMG activity Change Health Insurance Contribution Rates Manually consists of three actions: Enter Contribution Rate Changes, Adjust Contribution Rates, and Display Payroll-Relevant Contribution Rates.

  • Enter Contribution Rate Changes
Here you enter ongoing changes to health insurance contribution rates.
In contrast to IMG activity Set Up Health Insurance Funds, in which you enter data for a specific health insurance fund, here you can simultaneously change the contribution rates for multiple health insurance funds on a single fast-entry screen.
  • Adjust Contribution Rates
Adjust Contribution Rates You always need to perform this action after you enter changes to the health insurance contribution rates in the action Enter Contribution Rate Changes described earlier (table T5D1J).
With the activity Adjust Contribution Rates, the system compares the new contribution rates you entered (table T5D1J) with the entries in the table Health Insurance Contribution Rates Relevant for Payroll (T5D1I) and, if necessary, updates the payroll-relevant contribution rates that are actually used in the payroll.
Once the comparison is executed, you can delete the entries in table T5D1J (for example, to document that you have performed the action Adjust Contribution Rates); this is because only the current contribution rate changes should be entered into this table. The deletion of an entry in table T5D1J does not affect table Health Insurance Contribution Rates Relevant for Payroll (T5D1I). Note
Note
If you have changed contribution rates in the payroll past, the activity Adjust Contribution Rates also sets a recalculation date for all affected employees in the Payroll Status (0003) infotype, so that correct contributions can be calculated by the recalculation.
This two-level procedure also ensures that, even in case of subsequent changes, the payroll-relevant contribution rates (table T5D1I) always match the contribution rates actually used in the payroll. For this reason, you cannot change the payroll-relevant contribution rates (table T5D1I) directly, but have read-only access to them.
For more information about the Adjust Contribution Rates activity, see the report documentation (RPUSVCD0).
  • Display Payroll-Relevant Contribution Rates
You can use this action (for example, after reconciling the contribution rates) to display the current contribution rates that are actually used in payroll.
This table already contains the entries you entered during the initial configuration of your health insurance funds under Set Up Health Insurance Funds.
  1. Perform the action Enter Contribution Rate Changes and enter the new contribution rates for your health insurance funds.
You must enter the general, increased, and reduced percentage for each health insurance fund. If you administer recipients of pension plan payments, also enter the percentage for retirees.
As of 2006, you must also enter the contribution rate and reimbursement rate for the U2 contribution amount.
If you have companies with an obligation to pay contributions, you must also enter the contribution rate and reimbursement rate for the U1 contribution amount.
  1. Perform the action Adjust Contribution Rates.
  2. Display the current contribution rates that are relevant for payroll.
  • Further Hints The activity Change Health Insurance Contribution Rates Manually is also located in the SAP Easy Access menu under Human Resources -> Payroll -> Europe -> Germany -> Settings -> Current Settings -> Social Insurance.
  • As an alternative to manually entering changes to health insurance contribution rates, you can also import these changes into the SAP system using the automatic contribution rate file of the ITSG (Informationstechnische Servicestelle der Gesetzlichen Krankenversicherung GmbH), an information service provider for German state health insurance. To do this, you can use the IMG activity Change HI Contribution Rates with Contribution Rate File. Rate File.
