SAP E-Book

When an employee starts a work relationship with the Social Insurance, he or she will not be entitled to IT (temporary disability) until he or she has contributed for 180 days. This means that the employee is not entitled to allowances in case of absence during this period, but he or she is also exempt from paying the employee’s quota.

In the direct payment system (SLD), companies have to fill in the Social Insurance contribution basis using different concepts The cases of lack of temporary disability are entered in concept 509 Common contingencies, company contribution.

In the SAP system, there are two information sources for the lack of temporary disability:

  • Presence of wage type Other reduction w. (/33Q) in the payroll result of the employee.
  • The information of field Lack of IT in infotype Social Insurance (ES) (0061).

In this Customizing activity, you define the information source that the system has to use to read the lack of temporary disability. If the system does not take into account the lack of temporary disability, the Social Insurance could reject the bases files, or there may be differences between the quotas calculated by the payroll and the quotas calculated by the Social Security.

In the standard system, the bases files searches for the lack of temporary disability in wage type /33Q.

Change the option of situation SLD: Sources of lack of temporary disability (SLDIG) according to your needs. The following options are possible:

Option 0: Lack of IT due to wage type /33Q

This is SAP’s standard option. With this option, the system checks if the payroll result for the employee has wage type /33Q. If the concept is in the payroll and contains an amount, the company contribution bases for common contingencies will be entered in concept 509. Therefore, make sure wage type /33Q is included in its payroll schema. If you choose this option, but the wage type is not included in your schema, the contribution basis are entered in concept 500 Common contingencies and the file could be rejected.

In the situation validity date, enter the date in which wage type /33Q has been included in your payroll schema.

Note
Although option 0 does not check the information of field Lack of IT in infotype 0061, select this field to indicate that the employee lacks temporary disability.

Option 1: Lack of temporary disability due to infotype 0061

With this option, the system only verifies the information of field Lack of IT in infotype 0061, and the company contribution bases for common contingencies are entered in concept 509. If you choose this option and field Lack of IT is empty, the contribution basis are entered in concept 500 Common contingencies and the file could be rejected.

Note
Although option 1 does not verify the presence of wage types, if you use this option and do not include wage type /33Q in your payroll schema, you could experience problems when comparing the SLD calculation file and the wage type. This is because, without the wage type / 33Q, Social Security considers the employee to be exempt from contributing during absence, but not the payroll. Use this option only to avoid problems with the retroactive calculation.

Situation SLDIG is associated to other parameterizations. For more information, see Knowledge Base Article 2498149.
