PAY_GR_POSTINGINDEX - Activate Archiving Function for Posting Index

In this work step, you activate the option of archiving productive posting runs independently of the payroll results.

By default, productive posting runs can only be archived if the underlying payroll results were also archived.

Due to the volume of data in table PPOIX, it may be necessary to reduce the number of entries in table PPOIX without first archiving the payroll results.

You have already exhausted all reorganization options using the reports RPCIPDEL and RPCIPQ00 and could not reduce table PPOIX enough.

The switch is not activated in the standard system.

Set the POST ARCHI (Archiving Posting Index (PA_PIDX)) switch to 'X' if you want to archive productive posting runs independently of the payroll results.

Note:

If retroactive accountings arise subsequently in periods for which the affected posting runs were already archived, the related index data is read from the archived PPOIX. Note the retroactive accounting function when transferring to Accounting in the SAP documentation. As the archive must now be read, runtimes may be considerably longer.
