Use

In this customizing activity, you define:

  1. Absence types that are associated with maternity leave and annual leave.
  2. How valuation rules are linked with maternity leave and annual leave.

Activity 1

You identify the absence types that denote annual leave and maternity leave.

Activity 2

You link valuation rule for maternity leave with the corresponding valuation rule of the annual leave. Typically, the valuation rules correspond with legal requirements for maternity leave compensation. The following tables shows sample figures for how maternity leave compensation is calculated in Saudi Arabia.

Service Duration Maternity Leave Payment Annual Leave Payment
Less than 1 year 0% 100%
1 year to the end of the 35th month of employment 50% 50%
3 years or more 100% 0%

For example, assume that the absence type 0200 denotes maternity leave and 0400 denotes annual leave. To link the valuation rule 01 (100% payment) for maternity leave with valuation rule 03 (0% payment) of annual leave, add the following record in the corresponding table columns:

PSG A/AType End Date Val. Rule Start Date A/AType Val Rule Daily RT WT AbsVal Rec
24 0200 31.12.999 01 01.01.1800 0400 03 /002 /ALR

Note

In the Daily RT WTcolumn, you can specify a daily rate wage type that suits your business requirements, provided that the wage type is used in the payroll to hold the employee's daily rate of pay

In the AbsVal Reccolumn, you enter a deduction wage type that contains the amount that is recovered from annual leave in the event of a maternity leave. ,,
