By default, the payroll solution for Saudi Arabia provides a number of salary components and eligibility rules in Business Rule Framework plus (BRFplus) that you can use in your organization. However, if you want to create customized eligibility rules to suit the particular requirements of your organization, you can use this customizing activity, which launches BRFplus, to do so.

  • You know how to create decision table expressions and rules with BRFplus.
RECOMMENDATION
To find detailed information about BRFplus, including how to create decision table expressions and rules, go to http://help.sap.com/ and search for Business Rule Framework plus (BRFplus).
  • Salary components for the eligibility rule that you want to create are available. If a suitable salary component does not exist, you can create one in Customizing, under Payroll: Saudi Arabia -> Military Sector -> Allowances and Benefits -> Benefits Entitlement -> Define Salary Components in Compensation Areas.
  • You have configured BRFplus to display object technical names by choosing Workbench -> User Mode -> Expert Mode.
  • In BRFplus, you have navigated to the relevant application for Saudi Arabia-specific benefits packages by completing the following steps:
  1. Enter transaction BRFPLUS.
  2. Choose the Advanced search pushbutton.
  3. In the Object Type field, ensure that Application is selected.
  4. In the Object Name field, enter HRPAYSAPSELIG and choose the Search pushbutton. RECOMMENDATION Rather than modifying the default salary components and eligibility rules, we recommend that you create a copy of the HRPAYSAPSELIG application. You can then create custom rules in the copy. To copy the application, proceed as follows:
  5. Right-click on the HRPAYSAPSELIG application and select Copy.
  6. Enter the name that you want to assign to the copy and specify a development package.
  7. Select the Include Contained Objectscheckbox and choose the Copypushbutton.
  1. Create a new decision table expression or copy an existing decision table.
  2. In the newly created (or copied) decision table expression, insert condition columns and a result column so that particular conditions are mapped to a particular result.
NOTE

  • Ensure that the result column is referencing the element whose technical name is SC_ELIG. This column determines whether the result is to be true (eligible) or false (ineligible).

  • Ensure that one condition column is referencing the element whose technical name is EFFDATE. This condition column determines the date range within which the new rule is to be valid.

  • You can add more condition columns by selecting appropriate conditions from either of the following paths:

  • Insert Column -> From Context Data Objects -> PERNR_INFO .

  • Insert Column -> From Context Data Objects -> ADD_PERNR_INFO.

  1. After the new decision table expression is created, you add a new rule by inserting a new line.
  2. Map the newly created decision table expression to the existing salary component decision table expression (SC_RULES_ASSIGN) by completing these steps:
    1. In the existing salary component decision table expression (SC_RULES_ASSIGN), insert a new row.
    2. In the SCOMPcolumn, enter a salary component.
    3. Select the salary component that you want to associate with the new rule.
    4. In the SC_ELIGcolumn, choose the drop-down menu icon, select Select Expression, and enter the technical name of the newly created decision table expression, and choose Search.
    5. Highlight the row on which the decision table expression technical name is displayed; this action assigns the decision table expression to the salary component decision table expression.
