In this Customizing activity, you maintain Entitlement Validation Engine (EVE) related settings.

The Customizing for EVE(VC_T7UNPAD_EVE) view cluster has the followings views that you must maintain:

  • General Settings
Entitlement Calculation class - Enter the class that contains the business logic to compute entitlement.
In the standard system, class CL_HRPADUN_ENT_CALCULATOR is provided. Note that you must not change the list of methods provided in the standard class. If you need to create a new method or change an existing method, we suggest that you inherit the class CL_HRPADUN_ENT_CALCULATOR and make changes in the new class. Then you must maintain the new class in this field.
Attribute Reader Class - Enter the class that contains the business logic to determine the value of the attributes. An Attribute is the basis on which the eligibility of an employee for a particular entitlement is defined.
In the standard system, CL_HRPADUN_ATTRIBUTE_READER class is provided. Note that you must not change the list of attributes provided in the standard class. If you need to create a new attribute or change an existing attribute, we suggest that you inherit the class CL_HRPADUN_ATTRIBUTE_READER and make changes in the new class. Then you must maintain the new class in this field.
Precondition - Enter a precondition to be evaluated before the system performs the entitlement check. A precondition, if maintained, is a check that should be satisfied by the employee to be eligible for any entitlement.
For example, if it is a precondition for all entitlement eligibility that the employee has to be an active employee, then you can set Active as an eligibility criteria for an entitlement PRECO and maintain PRECOin this field. In this case, when you run an eligibility check for any entitlement, the system first checks whether the employee satisfies the criteria maintained in PRECO, that is, whether the employee is active. If not, the system does not recognize the particular employee to be eligible for any entitlement.
Note
In case you want to override the precondition for an entitlement, you must set Disable Precondition on Decision Cases screen for that entitlement.

  • Attribute Properties
In this table you can create the attributes that the system can use as the basis for assessing eligibility for various entitlements.
On the Attribute Properties Overview screen, you can view the list of attributes that are provided in the SAP standard system. To create a new attribute:
  1. Select New Entries. The New Entries: Details of Added Entries screen appears.
  2. Enter an attribute ID and a short description text for the attribute.
  3. Maintain the validity period of the attribute
  4. In the Attribute Properties section, choose the Methodoption if the attribute that you are creating uses a method to determine the eligibility. In this case, you must also maintain an attribute method and an attribute type. If the particular attribute should read a value maintained in an infotype to determine the attribute value, you must select the Infotype option here. In this case, you must also maintain the details of the infotype, subtype and the relevant field.
  5. Save your entries.

  • Entitlements
In this table you maintain the entitlements that are valid for your company. In the Entitlements overview screen you can view the entitlements that are available in the SAP standard system. To create a new entitlement:
  1. Select New Entries.
  2. Enter the Entitlement ID and a short description text for the entitlement
  3. Maintain the validity period for the entitlement.
  4. In the Entitlements section, enter the method that the system must use to calculate the entitlement. You must also select the Payroll Integration option, if you want the system to process the selected entitlement through EVE.
For entitlements that are paid through Basic Pay (008) infotype in classic method, you must delete the entries from Basic Pay (008) infotype and select the Payroll integration option here, to process the entitlement through EVE. For example, If you want the Language Allowance to be integrated with EVE, you must delete the Language Allowace entry from Basic Pay (008) infotype, and then select the option here.

  • Assignment of attributes to entitlements
After you choose the entitlement in the previous step, in this view you can assign the relevant attributes that are available in Attributes Properties view to an entitlement. To do so, you must:
  1. Select the entitlement that you want to assign the attributes to in the Entitlements view.
  2. Choose Assignment of Attributes in the view cluster
  3. Select the Attribute ID from the options available in the Attr ID field.
  4. Enter the period for which the particular attribute will be assigned to the entitlement.
  5. Save your entries

  • Decision Cases
In this table, maintain the decision case ID (Case ID) for a particular entitlement. A decision case is a criteria on which an eligibility is decided. For each case ID, there can be several attribute values that will be checked to ascertain whether the employee passes the eligibility check. These attribute checks are defined in the step Range for decision validation. You can have multiple decision cases for a particular entitlement. You can also choose to disable the precondition here.

  • Range for decision validation
In this table you assign validations for the selected decision case, for example you can define a decision case as Gross salary less than USD 1000 or Duty station of the Spouse is Head quarter. These decision cases define the rule for an entitlement eligibility assessment. To maintain a decision case:
  1. Select New Entries.
  2. Enter the attribute to which this decision case must belong.
  3. In the Range for decision validation section:
- Specify whether the system must include or exclude the low value or high value entered. For example, if the decision case is till October 7, in this field you specify whethre the system must consider the date 7 October or exclude October 7 and only consider till October 6.
- Specify the operation, for example whether the value must be equal to, less than, more than the value entered in this section.
- Maintain the Low Value and High Value of the decision case value range. If either of the value is an attribute select the corresponding Attribute checkbox and maintain the value as an attribute from the drop down menu.
  1. Save your entries.
