PAY_OM_BNE002 - Define Salary Components in Compensation Areas

In this Customizing activity, you define the salary components that are eligible for a specific compensation area.

For each salary component, you determine the following basic attributes:

• Storage

You specify the infotype, subtype and a wage type used for storing this salary component. When you run the Benefits Entitlement Workbench, the system creates an infotype record according to this information.

• Relevance to educational benefits

If a salary component is relevant to educational benefits, the system checks the total amount against the dependents criteria for eligibility.

• Position on the screen

You can determine a specific position of this salary component on the Benefit Entitlement Workbench screen; for example, if you would like a salary component to be displayed always on the top, enter 1 in the Sequence field.

In the follow-up activity Determine Eligible Salary Components in Compensation Groups, only the salary components defined in a specific compensation area are available for being assigned to a compensation group.
