In this Customizing activity, you assign the nationality groups to the personal ID types that are relevant for uniqueness check.

Certain personal ID is unique for each employee. When the HR users maintain such ID information, they need to be informed if the current ID number is used by another employee.

As per the nationality, the employees are categorized in the following employee group for nationality:

• All

• Qatari employees

• Expatriate employees

After you assign a nationality group to a certain personal ID type, the system performs the uniqueness check for the employees in the group when the HR users create or change the ID numbers of the specified type.

You assign the nationality group Expatriate Employees to the personal ID type Resident Permit (02) in this activity.

When the HR user creates a record of ID type 02 for an employee in the Personal ID (0185) infotype, the system performs the following checks:

1. Check the employee's nationality in the Personal Data (0002) infotype

If the employee is a Qatari national, the check stops; if the employee's nationality is not Qatar, system continues the check.

1. Check the existing records of the infotype 0185

If any record has the same ID number maintained, the system stops the check and issues an error message. If no such record exists, the system continues the check.

1. Check the records of the Family Member/Dependents (0021) infotype

If any dependent's record has the same ID number maintained, the system stops the check and issues a warming message. If no such record exists, the system stops checking. And the ID number could be saved in the infotype 0185.
