In this Customizing activity, you determine the following:

  • Date type for a newly born child in the Date Specifications (0041) infotype
  • Date type for an adopted child in the Date Specifications (0041) infotype
  • Effective date of the check of claimable allowances for the government-paid leaves (SAP Note 2158351)

When a child is born or adopted, a record in the infotype 0041 using the specified date type must be created. And this record is used as the valid date of birth and formal intent adoption date while the system checks the employee's eligibility for benefits under relevant pro-family leave schemes.

After the specified effective date, the Generates Absence forms for Employer (RPCTGMLR0) report check whether an allowance is claimable from the government. Only if the allowances have been paid to the employee continuously for multiple months before the start of the leaves, can the allowances be claimed from the government.

The determined date types and effective date are relevant for the following leaves:

  • Government-Paid Maternity Leave (GPML)
  • Government-Paid Shared Parental Leave (GSPL)
  • Government-Paid Paternity Leave (GPPL)
  • Government-Paid Adoption Leave (GPAL)

You have defined the date type for children birth date in Customizing for Personnel Management, under Personal Administration -> Evaluation Basis -> Date Specifications -> Define Date Type.

You use the feature RGDAT to determine the date types and the effective date. Define the feature return value as <AA>/<DD>/&lt;YYYYMMDD>:

  • <AA>
Date type for the date of birth in infotype 0041
  • <DD>
Date type for the formal intent adoption date in infotype 0041
  • <YYYYMMDD>
Effective date for the claimable allowance check

If you do not use the claimable allowance check in your solution, leave the effective date empty.

The wage types for the claimable allowances are available in payrolls after you have installed the SAP Note. Therefore, set an effective date that is later than the installation of the SAP Note. This is to make sure you have time to prepare the necessary wage types before the system starts making the checks.

If the wage types are not available after the check takes effect, the system still uses the old solution without the check.
