PB28_EMPGRPS - Using Pension Management Groups

You can use pension management groups for the following purposes:

• To determine whether an employee is eligible to participate in a corporate pension plan or to determine whether his or her participant status can be changed

• To calculate the contribution amounts that an employee or an employer makes to the pension plan

• To determine whether an employee is eligible to receive benefits from the pension plan

To use pension management groups for these purposes, you must complete the following steps:

1. Make the settings in the Customizing activity Define Pension Management Groups.
2. Assign pension management groups to the corporate pension plan for which you want to use them in the Assign Pension Management Groups to Pension Plans.
3. Select the purposes for which you want to use them in the Use Pension Management Groups group box in the Customizing activity Define Corporate Pension Plans.
4. If you want to use your pension management groups to determine whether employees are eligible to participate in a corporate pension plan or to determine whether their participant status can be changed, you must also make the following settings:

• To determine whether the employees belong to a pension management group for participant status management, you set up the decision criteria in the Customizing activity Determine Pension Mgmt Group for Participant Status Mgmt.

• If the decision criteria specified in the above Customizing activity do not meet your requirements, you can define additional decision criteria in the Customizing activity BAdI Determination of Pension Management Groups.

1. If you want to use your pension management groups to calculate contribution amounts for employees, you must also make the following settings:

• To determine whether employees belong to a pension management group for contribution calculation, you set up decision criteria in the Customizing activity Determine Pension Mgmt Group for Contribution Calculation.

• If the decision criteria specified in the above Customizing activity do not meet your requirements, you can define additional decision criteria in the Customizing activity BAdI: Determination of Pension Management Groups.

• Assign calculation methods to pension management groups. You make this setting in the Customizing activity Define Cont. Calc. Method for Pension Mgmt Groups.

• If the calculation methods that you can define in the above Customizing activity do not meet your requirements, you can set up customer-specific calculation methods in the Customizing activity BAdI: Customer-Specific Method for Contribution Calculation.

1. If you want to use your pension management groups to determine whether employees are eligible to receive benefits from a pension plan, you must also make the following settings:

• To determine whether employees belong to a pension management group for benefit eligibility management, you set up decision criteria in the Customizing activity Determine Pension Mgmt Group for Benefit Eligibility Mgmt.

• If the decision criteria specified in the above Customizing activity do not meet your requirements, you can define additional decision criteria for your pension management groups in the Customizing activity BAdI: Determination of Pension Management Groups.
