PBCS_0101 - Activate Enhanced Posting Logic

In this step you activate the enhanced posting logic.

SAP does not deliver any standard settings.

When you enter a date, the system behaves as follows:

• For personnel numbers, the program determines the commitment periods from the billing periods of the payroll area to which the personnel number is assigned. This has the following consequences:

• The program stops evaluating the definition of the commitment periods in IMG activity Define Commitment Periods for personnel numbers.

• If a person, for example is assigned to a payroll area with fortnightly payroll periods, then during the period in which the person is assigned to the payroll area, the commitment periods are also fortnightly. This means that more commitment documents may be created.

• For positions, the program determines the commitment periods as follows:

• For vacant positions, the program determines the commitment periods as before from IMG activity Define Commitment Periods. This also applies to the vacant parts of positions that are not occupied 100% with personnel numbers.

• For occupied positions, the program uses the commitment periods from the commitment periods of the personnel numbers to be occupied.

• So, if a position is not occupied 100% for example, and the occupant persons belong to different payroll areas with different payroll periods, then the earmarked funds created for the position display different validity dates.

• In the transactions for the view of financings, the Payroll Area column becomes visible after the extended posting logic has been activated.
