Set Up Budget Allocation

In this section of Customizing, you can set up the budget allocation process in the system. The system supports a three-step allocation process.

Here you can define plan quotas for budget structure elements (that is, apportionment budget of type Planned Apportionment Budget). Through allocation, planned apportionment budget can be distributed to other (target) budget structure elements. Apportionment budgets of the type Apportioned Budget are created for these (target) budget structure elements.

From a distributed apportionment budget, a budget quota can then be assigned to a budget structure element through budget allocation (meaning an apportionment budget of the type Budget Quota).

If an activation date for updating the budget through budget allocation is defined in the Customizing activity Activate Update of Budget Through Budget Allocation, the original budget of the relevant budget structure element is updated accordingly.

To enable the entry of apportionment budget, you must first define a number range interval in the Customizing activity Maintain Number Range for Apportionment Budget.

In the Customizing activity Flag Budget Structure Element Types for Budget Allocation, you can specify for budget structure element types which type of apportionment budget can be entered.

To control the budget allocation, rules that are to be processed when entering budget allocations can be implemented in the system in the Customizing node Set Up Allocation Rules.
