In this step, you define the date type to be used in data transfer from an existing system.

The date type defines the meaning of a particular date, for example, date type 01 for technical entry date.

SAP delivers several date types. The date types below are used in the standard system for Australia. For this date types, no Date Indicator is used.

LI - Last Increment date
NR - Normal Retirement Age
QL - LSL Anniversary Date
QR - RL Anniversary Date
QS - SL Anniversary Date
RI - Rew.Increment date

  • If you use the date type of the standard system, you can skip this menu option.
  • If you want to create a date type of your own, assign the Date Indicator to the date type.

The date type is used in the Date Specifications infotype (0041), where you can assign a specific date to a date type, and in the Anniversary Date History infotype (0568).

Dependencies: When you create a Date Specifications record, the system proposes a date type on the basis of the employee's organizational structure.
