The payroll process manager can use the configuration wizards on the front end to create payroll processes, create policies with relevant check types, and assign these policies to the payroll processes flexibly based on their business needs, in the production system.

When the payroll process manager creates a payroll policy using the simplified configuration wizard in the production system, he or she can validate the policy configuration before saving it. You use this Business Add-In (BAdI) to define the rules for validating the policy configuration. This BAdI is used in the Payroll Process (PY-XX-PYP) component.

For more information about the standard settings (filters, single or multiple uses), see the Enhancement Spot Element Definitions tab in the BAdI Builder (transaction SE18).

If you choose to define your own logic for validating payroll policies, you need to create your own implementation of the BAdI definition PAY_PYC_BO_POLMR. Only one implementation is allowed for this BAdI. If you have multiple validation rules, you need to consolidate them in one BAdI method.
