SAP E-Book

In this activity, you set up the Web application CATS regular for the Cross-Application Time Sheet. CATS regular is part of the Business Package for Employee Self-Service (SAP ERP). For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) under Personnel Management -> Employee Self-Service.

  • You have made the general settings for Employee Self-Service under Employee Self-Service (Web Dynpro ABAP).
  • You have created a system user name in the Communication infotype (0015) for each employee who records working times with CATS regular. You have also specified the profile to be used in user parameter CVR. For more information, see the SAP Library, under Cross-Application Components -> Cross-Application Time Sheet (CATS) -> User Interfaces -> CATS regular.
  • To enable the switsch between recording profiles, you have performed the following steps:
  • In role maintenance transaction PFCG, you have set application parameter MULTIPLE_PROFILE to "X".

  • You have implemented the BAdI: Recording Profile Filter (HRESS_CATS_PROFILE_FILTER_ENH).

Note:
First set up an ESS data entry profile. The system can then assign a profile to the employee even if the user parameter CVR has not been stored.

If necessary, use the Create Data Entry Profiles for ESS activity to set up special profiles for recording working times using CATS regular.
Not all settings in profile maintenance can be taken into consideration for CATS regular. Note the following:

  • General Settings area:
  • With clock times (only in day view)

  • Highlight rej. recs (not supported, can be seen in calendar)

  • Workdays only (not supported)

  • Display weekdays (always displayed)

  • No initial screen (there is no initial screen)

  • Cell length (not evaluated)

  • Trip schema (access to travel expenses data entry not supported)

  • Print program (not supported)

  • Time Settings area
  • Employees can only edit their working times using profiles for which period type 2 (weekly data entry) is specified.

  • The number of days/weeks displayed on the screen (Periods field) is ignored. Nevertheless, you should enter the value 1 in the field because it is a required entry field.

  • Upper and lower limit relative (is not supported, users can scroll as far as they want)

  • Worklist area
  • From confirmation pool (since there is no initial screen, users cannot select a confirmation pool)

  • Workflow
  • At this time, you can only perform the approval process with automatic recipient determination. If you implement the workflow (Approval Workflow field is selected), employees can only edit their working times if the Automatic Recipient Determination field is also selected.

  • The following areas are not supported:
  • Person Selection
