In this Customizing activity, you make the settings to enable country-/region-specific applications in the Personal Information area to be reused.

Note:

Perform the steps in the activity in the sequence in which they appear. Note that if you execute this activity, you will reuse existing country-/region-specific applications. You should be aware of this before making any changes to existing applications.

If you want to create a new country-/region-specific application, carry out the steps in the specified sequence:

  1. Assign Screen Structure to Infotype Versions

Identify the country-/region-specific application that is best suited to be copied and adapted as your new country-/region-specific application. Note in particular whether the screen structure and user interface suit your requirements and whether you can adapt the screen structure to your application logic.

In this step, you specify the screen structure for your country-/region-specific application. The name of the structure is listed in the view V_T588UICONVCLAS. This view contains the country-/region-specific structures. Copy the name and the type of the required structure.

  1. Determine Active Subtypes and Make Settings

For each country/region version, the table contains the infotypes, active subtypes, and use case for the Personal Information area. Specify the required country/region version. You can specify for each infotype which subtypes are active and can be changed by your employees. In addition, you can define the use case for each infotype or subtype.

As a default, employees are permitted to create records with a future valid-from date only for the Addresses infotype (0006).

Recommendation:

It is recommended that you leave the standard entries for the ESS scenarios unchanged.

  1. Define Country-/Region-Specific Applications

You then define your country-/region-specific application using the functions of the Self-Services Homepage. Enter the service key and the resource of your application.

For more information, see Customizing for the Self-Services Homepage and choose Services -> Define Country-/Region-Specific Services.

  1. Determine Fields for Business Card on Overview Screen

In this step, you determine which fields appear on the business card on the overview page of a Self-Service application. If you do not choose any fields for the business card, the system displays the fields set by the standard system. This step is optional and is only necessary for applications that support Customizing for business cards.

For the country/region version for Russia, you want to create a country-/region-specific application in which employees can change their personal data. You want to use the application for Germany as a basis for your new application. Perform the following steps:

  1. In view V_T588UICONVCLAS, find the entry for the application Personal Data Germany for infotype 0002 (Personal Data) and screen version 01 (Germany). Copy the name of the screen structure (in the example: HCMT_BPS_PA_DE_R0002).
Choose the activity Assign Screen Structure to Infotype Versions and enter infotype 0002 and country/region version 33 (Russia). Enter the screen structure name (in the example: HCMT_BPS_PA_DE_R0002) and type (in the example: MAIN).
  1. Choose the activity Define Active Subtypes and Make Settings. Enter the required values for the subtype for the entry of your choice (in the example: infotype 0002, country/region version 33) and set the indicators as required.
  2. Choose the activity Define Country-/Region-Specific Applications. Create a new entry for the country/region version for Russia and copy the service key and the resource of the entry from the country/region version for Germany.
  3. Choose Determine Fields for Business Card on Overview Page. Enter the following:
  • Infotype 0002 (Personal Data)

  • Infotype version 33 (Russia)

  • Structure name HCMT_BPS_PA_DE_R0002

Choose first name, last name, and date of birth as the fields you would like to be displayed in the business card on the overview page of an application.
