In this IMG activity, you choose the countries/regions for which employees can enter a foreign address when using the self-service application.
Many global customers employ people from a large number of different countries/regions. These customers require that their employees be able to maintain foreign addresses, in the corresponding country/region format, in Employee Self-Service (ESS). For example, an employee organizationally belonging to Germany has his permanent home in Austria and would like to maintain his permanent address in the correct address format for Austria.
Employees can maintain a foreign address using the country/region field on the Detail screen. This is enabled if an employee creates a new record. When an employee selects a foreign country/region in which to maintain an address, the country/region-specific views (Detail view, Review view) change to correspond to that country/region. If a country/region-specific address format does not exist for the selected country/region, international address views are used.
Choose the required subtype of the Addresses infotype, for example, 1 = Permanent Residence, 2 = Temporary Residence. Enter the relevant country/region and the application HCM Localization. The system automatically proposes the default HCM Localization when you add a country/region to the table.
The HCM Localization is needed to identify the country/region-specific service that must be called from the Homepage framework.
If you wish to allow employees to maintain their home address (subtype 3) in Canada, enter the following information in this activity:
- STyp: 3
- Cty: CA
- Name: Canada
- HCM Loc: 07
