Allows you to define risk matrixes with which you can perform a risk analysis of the failure causes in the FMEA.

For the x-axis and y-axis of a risk matrix, you specify valuation categories that are used to specify which failure criteria are taken into account. The valuation categories relate to the different list elements in the FMEA:

  • The valuation of the severity is done at the level of the effects.
  • The valuation of the probability of occurrence is done at the level of the preventive actions or at the level of causes if no preventive actions exist yet.
  • The valuation of the probability of detection is done at the level of the detection actions.

In addition, you assign a valuation profile to each axis to determine the values displayed below the respective axis. To be able to use the risk matrixes, they must be assigned to a risk analysis profile.

You can define your own valuation profiles and their valuations in your configuration environment. Use the search function to open the following activity: Define Valuation Specifications.

You define valuation profiles in Customizing under Quality Management -> Quality Planning -> Failure Mode and Effects Analysis -> Lists -> Define Valuation Specifications.
