POC_MAIN_PARALLEL - Activate/Deactivate Parallel Processing

Using this Customizing activity you can activate or deactivate parallel processing for the creation of process instances and the calculation of process KPIs.

The parallelization takes place after events have been received and matched to process definitions. It uses the inbound queue functionality of bgRFC for parallelization. Each process definition represents a queue. Within the queue the events and units are processed sequentially, process instances are created and updated, and KPIs are calculated.

Note: Parallel processing can make sense when more than one process definition is actively used in process monitoring and high volumes of events occur, for example more than 1 million events per hour.

In transaction POC_MODEL_CHECK you can check whether parallel processing is active.

You can use transaction SBGRFCMON for monitoring and troubleshooting the queues.

bgRFC is setup in your system. This is normally the case in a S/4HANA system.

You can check the bgRFC configuration with transaction SBGRFCCONF.

Choose tab 'Define Inbound Dest.' and check, if inbound destination 'POC_PROCESS' is available.

If necessary, create inbound destination 'POC_PROCESS' with queue prefix 'POC_'.

Note: Parallel processing will only work when this inbound destination is available.

Default configuration will allow 10 parallel queues. You can check note 2309399 for more detailed configuration for an inbound destination.

Choose one of the following settings for parameter POC_PARALLEL_PROCESSING:

- SPACE - Parallel Processing is set to 'off'.

- 'X' - Parallel Processing is set to 'on'.
