SAP E-Book

In this step, you define control keys for operations, phases, and secondary resources.

In the control key, you set a number of flags and keys which specify the business functions to be carried out for an operation, a phase or a secondary resource. For more information on the different flags and keys, press F1.

Use control keys as follows:

  • In resources:
The control key you enter here is referenced or copied to the corresponding operations, phases and secondary resources of the master recipe.
  • In the master recipe when creating operations and phases as well as when allocating secondary resources:
If you have not maintained a default control key in the resource, you must now enter a control key in the master recipe.
  • In the process order when maintaining operations, phases and secondary resources:
When you create a process order, the system copies the control keys you have maintained in the master recipe to the order. They can still be changed in the order if there is no reference to the resource.

Note

Please keep in mind that changes to control keys that are in use also change business functions. This can lead to changes in the operation, phase and secondary resource data.

The SAP system contains various control keys.

  1. Check whether you can use the existing control keys.
  2. If necessary, define your own control keys.
