Define or adapt product types for money market transactions based on the available product categories.

Product types help to distinguish between different money market financial instruments. Differentiation is necessary if the individual instruments are subject to different processing rules or if you want to create different levels for the evaluation. By assigning different structural characteristics, various forms of transactions can be predefined.

The financial transaction is only finally set up by combining the product type with a transaction type.

1. Name your product type. You have a 3-character alphanumeric field for this.
2. Specify the long text and short text for your new product type.
3. Assign your product type to a product category. The product category is an internal key and controls how the product types assigned to it are processed.

In the Money Market area, the following product categories are available:

1. 540 Cash Flow Transaction
2. 550 Interest Rate Instrument
3. 560 Facilities
4. 580 Current Acct-Style Instrument

Choose the Interest Calculation Method used as default value in the financial transactions.

Choose the Effective Interest Method (Financial Mathematics) and the type of effective interest calculation.

For facilities, choose theFacility Category Bilateral Facility.

In the Cash Flow Generation area, you can set the Generate Zero Flows Based on Fixed Interest Rate indicator. In addition, you can enable the usage of extended financial mathematic functions (New FiMa), such as parallel conditions and the assignment of up to 5 calendars for the working day check for interest rate instruments and current account style instruments in the Cash Flow Calculation field.

For interest rate instruments, you can choose the Term Category.
