This Customizing activity provides an overview of the functions available in Social Services data archiving and describes the relevant Customizing settings in SAP ERP and SAP CRM.

Overview of Social Services Archiving Objects in SAP ERP and SAP CRM:

Social Services data archiving provides you with two types of archiving scenarios:

  • Social Services data archiving that is controlled by SAP CRM (recommended by SAP)
Data archiving for Social Services documents in ERP is initiated by CRM business transactions for the SOA, SSP, DBA and SDP, which are selected by the preprocessing run and meet the requirements for archiving (have the status closed and the residence time has been met). Preselected business transactions with the status Archivable(I1100) and Deletable (I1102) are replicated to SAP ERP using CRM middleware and initialize the ERP archiving of associated Social Services documents (SXP, GED, GPD, DBA).
NCD archiving is not dependent on CRM business transaction archiving and is not supported by this archiving scenario.
  • Separate Social Services data archiving in SAP CRM and SAP ERP
Data archiving for Social Services documents in ERP and Social Services business transactions in CRM is performed separately. In SAP ERP, the preprocessing run for the archiving object PSSC_SXP identifies SXP documents that meet the requirements (have the status closed and the residence time has been met).
Decision Basis Archiving
Data archiving for decision basis documents is performed together with the SXP documents from the archiving object PSSC_SXP.
If you are using the separate Social Services archiving scenario, you must make the SAP ERP archiving Customizing settings for your DBA types.
If you are using the Social Services data archiving scenario that is controlled by SAP CRM, no SAP ERP-specific Customizing settings need to be made for DBA archiving.
Data archiving for NCDs has to be run separately from the SXP / DBA document archiving. NCDs in the SAP ERP system can only be archived if the residence time has been reached and the NCD header status is not Open or Revised.

You choose one of these Social Services archiving scenarios in the Global Archiving Settings in SAP ERP Customizing.

Perform the following steps to define Customizing settings for Social Services data archiving in SAP ERP and SAP CRM:

SAP CRM (transaction SARA):

  1. Define the data archiving Customizing settings for your SOA, SSP, DBA and SDP business transaction types.
  2. Activate the archive information structure for the Social Services archiving objects.
  3. Schedule the archiving run for the CRM Social Services archiving objects.

SAP ERP (transaction SARA):

  1. In the Customizing activity Define Global Archiving Settings choose one of the Social Services archiving scenarios.
  2. Define the data archiving Customizing settings for SXP documents and NCD documents. In case of the separate archiving scenario, you also have to define the DBA archiving Customizing settings.
  3. Activate the archive information structure for the ERP Social Services archiving objects.
  4. Schedule the archiving run for the ERP Social Services archiving objects.
