SAP E-Book

In this step you set up direct access to records linked to SRM business documents such as contracts, purchase orders or bid invitations.

  • You must have linked a Records Management system to your Supplier Relationship Management system.
  • In the Records Management system, report /SAPPSPRO/START_WITH_POID must be available.
  • All users run Windows Operating Systems on their PCs.
  • The SRM user has a corresponding Records Management user with the same name.
  1. Manually:
    1. Log on to your Records Management system.
    2. Create a new GUI shortcut (with or without User name) of type 'Report' with 'Command' '/SAPPSPRO/START_WITH_POID ' and a name of your choice. Copy the newly created shortcut to a shared folder on any network server or PC. Copy the SAP Logon entry used for creating the shortcut to all user PCs. (The description and the system has to be the same.).
    3. Maintain the customizing table as follows: Enter the user name of the shortcut. If you have created a shortcut without user name, then enter 'DEFAULT'.
    4. Enter the full network path to the shortcut in the shared network folder.
      Example
FILE://P63849/C$/START_RM/KX1%20START%20RM%20.SAP, where the executable KX1 START RM.SAP is located in the folder C:/START_RM on the network computer P63849. KX1 START RM is the name you have chosen on creating the shortcut.
  2. Automatically:
    1. Log on to the user PC for which you want to create the shortcut or to the network server, provided that a SAPGUI has been installed there. Perform the activity Create Shortcuts for SRM-RM Linking.

  1. User ROGERS should be able to navigate directly from the SRM document to the related record. To do so, perform the following steps, assuming that the shared folder 'C:\START_RM' is located on PC 'P63849'.
  2. Create a shortcut for user ROGERS called 'KX1 Start RM for Rogers' and copy the shortcut to the shared folder 'C:\START_RM' on PC 'P63849'.
  3. Enter the following:
    1. User name = 'ROGERS'
    2. Path = 'FILE://P63849/C$/START_RM/KX1%20START%20RM%20FOR%20ROGERS.SAP'.
