In this activity, you assign the profiles for the FMLA Workbench to your employees and configure the required authorizations.

To do so, you create parameter transactions, which enable a transaction to be run with particular specifications, such as a profile. You use these parameter transactions to add the transactions to users' favorites or SAP menu.

You use the role maintenance transaction to maintain the menu and authorizations and to assign them to employees.

Alternatively, you can use the user parameters to assign employees a profile. This method, however, requires more work and maintenance.

You are familiar with maintaining roles and authorizations.

  1. For each profile for the FMLA Workbench, choose the Create Parameter Transaction activity.
    The Maintain Transaction screen appears.
  2. Enter an easily identifiable name for the transaction in the Transaction code field, and choose Create.
  3. Enter a short text for the transaction. The short text is used in the SAP Menu for users to select the transaction.
  4. Select the Transaction with parameters (parameter transaction) field and choose Continue.
The Create Parameter Transaction screen appears.
  5. In the Transaction field, enter the PTFMLA_PROF transaction name.
  6. Select the Skip Initial Screen field.
  7. Select the Inherit GUI Attributes field.
The fields in the GUI Support area are not relevant.
  8. In the Default Values area, enter PROFILE in the Name of Screen Field field.
  9. In the Value field, enter the name of the required profile for the FMLA Workbench.
  1. Choose the Maintain Roles activity.
  2. Change the role that is assigned to your users or create a new role to be used for FMLA Management.
  3. Extend the role menu.
  4. Maintain the authorizations for the transaction and generate them.
  5. If required, enter all employees who are to be assigned this role.
